It was in the year 1939, a couple of years before the second World War broke out, a brave harbinger of education in the person of Mr. Pachico Contreras constructed a make- shift school building which only catered first graders. Hence, Matina Biao Primary School came to being.
In 1941, when the Philippines were put into quandary because of the World War, Matina Biao Primary School was temporarily closed for two consecutive years. Extrapolating that peace was already achieved, the audacious and indomitable teacher opened the school again to spread the efficacy of his field of calling. The classes then ranged from grades I-IV, such level remained for quite a time, the children then upon finishing grade four, pursued their remaining grade level at the neighboring complete Elementary Schools. It was not until SY 1964-1965 that Matina Biao became a complete Elementary School though the first graduates were only 24 composed of 10 boys and 14 girls, with Mr. Rogelio Torreon as the adviser and Mr. Eusebio Gulla as the Head Teaher.
Today, Matina Biao Elementary School has seven buildings used as school office and classrooms of 269 pupils from grades I-VI and seven dynamic teachers inluding the school head.
